Japanese Beauty Products- What to try this month.

APRIL what to try- blog title

April is an important month in Japan, it starts with the end of cherry blossom season and ends with the national holidays of Golden Week. It is also the beginning of the new business and school year, and the glorious warmer spring days after a long cold winter. The month of April is also an important one for Japanese beauty companies, who release many new products and colour collections for the Spring/ Summer season. So there are plenty of new discoveries to be found in the beauty aisles this month!

Here are five new Japanese skincare and makeup products that I am dying to try this April.

CureNaturalOilCleanser

Cure Extra Oil Cleansing (¥2000)

Many of you will already be familiar with the cult Japanese beauty product Cure Natural Aqua Gel (my post about Cure Natural Aqua Gel is here), well this month the brand has added a moisturising cleansing oil to their line up. Cure Extra Oil Cleansing combines deep cleansing oils and enzymes to remove make-up, oil and dirt gently from the skin, and without removing precious natural oils which leaves the skin feeling tight and sensitised after washing. Cure Extra Oil Cleanser is designed to be used as the first step of double cleansing routine  (more information on double cleansing in my post here on Japanese evening skincare routine).

Available from Japanese drugstores, Ainz & Tulpe, Loft, Tokyo Hands, Plaza and Don Quixote.

Saisei Face mask

Saisei Sheet Mask  ¥660

Flow Fushi have released a high-tech new sheet mask series created to specifically target different problem areas of the face- Face (jaw) lines, eyes zone and lip zone. Each of the three sheet masks differ in shape and thickness of material to ensure the maximum effect on the target region of face. The Saisei Sheet Mask contains 50 billion lactic acid bacteria (better known now as new skincare wonder ingredient, probiotics) to improve the quality of the skin through gentle exfoliation, which allows the other hydrating ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin layers and helps reduce moisture loss from the skin. Each pack of Seisai Sheet Mask contains one week supply- and are designed to be used twice per week.

Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation ¥4,968

Without a doubt one of may absolute favourite Japanese beauty brands is Koh Gen Do. I have written about Koh Gen Do quite a few times before, and I have reviewed and recommended the Aqua Foundation to numerous friends, readers and Instagram followers who have quizzed me on my “must have” Japanese beauty products. Koh Gen Do products are the real deal. So, I am dying to try the new formulation of Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation that has been released this month. I have to tell you, I am a little nervous as I love the old formulation so much, but I trust Koh Gen Do as absolute experts in their field and will improve on an already amazing beauty product. The new Aqua foundation contains new ingredients to combat dryness, whilst giving excellent coverage that doesn’t feel heavy or obvious. Once I have the opportunity to try the new formulation for myself, I will definitely post a detailed review.

Koh Gen Do is available from their stores in Azabu Juban and Marunouchi , online and at Ainz & Tulpe.

  1. Shiseido Synchro Skin tinted gel creme is a great lightweight foundation. I have been wearing it for three weeks. Shiseido came out with a UV Clear Stick SPF 50 sunscreen that I have been using when I go hiking. It doesn’t deposit any color on your skin and it is waterproof!

    1. Hi Julia, thanks for your comment. So many great releases from Shiseido! I have to try the UV clear stick SPF 50, sounds 👌🏻😘
