Happy new year! Wishing you all the best for 2018 and thank you for your support in 2017.
Starting off my first blog post of 2018 with a list of the Japanese beauty products I most want to try this January. My wish list of beauty products is always so long! So I thought it would be fun to highlight some of the new release (and some not so new) products that I am dying to get my hands on month. Here we go!
SKII Overnight Miracle Mask (¥10,692 for 6)
Three words. Overnight. Miracle. Mask.
I’m sold! Pair that, with the fact said mask comes from SKII and I am literally dying to get my hands on these little pods. If you have dry skin (and I’m guessing there are quite a lot of you in the northern hemisphere right now), then an overnight mask is a seriously fool-proof way to give you skin a moisture hit with the minimum of fuss. SKII Overnight Miracle Mask is a paint-on gel mask containing Pitera (SKII’s patented moisturizing and radiance boosting ingredient) and Nemnoki bark extract to improve skin texture. Simply cleanse the face, paint on the mask then fall into bed. Wake up to hydrated, smoother and more radiant skin. Yes please!
Available in Japan from 10th January. Check it out here on Isetan Shinjuku’s Online Store.
Ayura Rhythm Concentrate ¥8,000 (40ml)
Everyday exposure to UV rays, cold temperatures and constant heating or air-conditioning can definitely leave your skin looking less than it’s best. Ayura Rhythm Concentrate is an everyday serum created to specifically target these common skin concerns. Transforming your skin from dull and dry, to soft and glossy with a unique formulation containing Koutsuki extract, derived from Koyumaki (Japanese conifer tree- which thrive under harsh conditions), combined with blueberry, ectoin and super hyaluronic acid.
Available from Ainz & Tulpe (Harajuku and Ikebukuro), Isetan (Shinjuku), Takashimaya (Shinjuku), Tokyu Department Store (Shibuya and Kichijoji) and Matsuya (Ginza).
First- Fujiko Eyebrow Serum ¥1,450
My natural eyebrows (without my much needed pencil or powder) are unfortunately a little more 90’s Kate Moss than 2018 Kaia Gerber. So this eyebrow beauty serum from Fujiko sounds like just what I need. The easy to paint on serum targets easily disappearing or sparse brows, aiming for a more dense, three-dimensional brow. I definitely need to add this brow serum to my AM and PM skin care routine in 2018.
Available from Tokyo Hands, Loft and Ainz & Tulpe.
THREE Angelic Symbiosis Foundation ¥5,400 (Available in 4 shades)
THREE is definitely one of my favourite natural Japanese beauty brands, both for luxurious skin care and on-point make-up. The recently released Angelic Symbiosis foundation is high on my “to-try” list for 2018 as it contains a unique gel powder texture (I know- it seems impossible!) giving coverage, radiance and long-wear, without the need for powder. I have read so many rave reviews for this foundation in the Asian Beauty community so let’s hope it lives up to my high expectations….but let’s be honest, I am yet to find a THREE makeup item I haven’t liked.
Available from THREE Aoyama and THREE counters at Japanese department stores like Mitsubishi and Isetan (full store list here).
Addiction Blush Trinity ¥3,024
A combination of three complimentary shades that blend seamlessly together to give just the perfect amount of colour and highlight. There are four colour variations available of the Blush Trinity ranging from the bronze toned- Jet Setter to the bold pinks of One Force (pictured). I can’t go past a pink blush
Available at Japanese department stores, Isetan Mirror, Hankyu Fruit Gathering and Lumine (full store list here).
Addiction Cheek Polish ¥3,024
Tokyo brand Addiction by Ayako create some of the most incredible and interesting colour ranges, and their current limited edition colours of Cheek Polish in Artsy Red and Purple, are high on my wish list. This liquid cheek tint melts into the cheeks, creating the prefect natural flushed cheek look. Simply paint on and blend with the fingertips or a Beauty Blender.
Available at Japanese department stores, Isetan Mirror, Hankyu Fruit Gathering and Lumine (full store list here).
My Lash Mascara ¥1,027
My Lash mascara is not a new launch, but somehow I am yet to try it. Japanese film mascara are my absolute favourite, and My Lash is designed to easily define the lashes (no clumps) and give a soft, natural look. Best of all, they are so easy to remove with warm water.
Available at Japanese drugstores and beauty stores like Ainz & Tulpe.
